RES 2013-035CITY OF SOUTH LAKE TAHOE RESOLUTION NO. 201335 Resolution Authorizing The South Lake Tahoe Police Department to Participate and Accept a Grant From the California Office of Traffic Safety for the AVOID DUI Enforcement Program (STEP) Grant for fiscal year 2013 WHEREAS, the City of South Lake Tahoe recognizes the threat impaired drivers pose to the community and desires to continue providing special education, awareness and enforcement targeting impaired drivers in an effort to reduce the number of traffic related injuries and /or deaths. WHREAS, the Chief of Police for the City of South Lake Tahoe is authorized on its behalf to participate and accept a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety that is being managed by the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of South Lake Tahoe does hereby authorize participation in the California Office of Traffic Safety AVOID DUI Enforcement grant for fiscal year 2013, and upon participation in the grant activities the Chief of Police is authorized to collaborate with the Finance Department to bill the El Dorado County District Attorney's Office for expenditures accrued.
